Obituary of Mildred Louise Clarke

Louise Clarke (Beezie), 94, died February 14, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. Beezie was born November 26th, 1929, in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Roland and Lucille Kirkham. Her father was a civil engineer and college professor who also served in the US Army in France in WWI and in the Army Corps. of Engineers during WWII. Her mother was a housewife and raised Beezie and her sisters in Omaha, Nebraska. Beezie attended Benson High School in Omaha and the University of Colorado where she met and married her husband Conway. She lived in Colorado until his death in 2009. While still raising her 3 children, she earned a BFA degree from UNC in Greeley and worked as an educator and an interior decorator after graduating.

 

Beezie was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Greeley until relocating to Arizona after Conway’s death. She had diverse interests that included family, watercolor painting, home decorating, collecting antiques of all kinds, gardening, sewing, and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her father, her mother-in-law and to her husband Conway.

 

Beezie is survived by her sister Sue; her 3 children Linda, Bruce and Beth and their spouses; her 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Conway and her sister Marjorie.

 

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Greeley, Colorado this summer. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please send donations to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue
