Obituary of Sabina Judith (Ginder) Altenberger

Sabina Judith “Judy” (Ginder) Altenberger, age 63, of Chandler, AZ, passed away on Friday, January 26. She was born on March 29, 1960, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Freeman Dale Ginder and Judith Sabina (Konn) Latham.

Judy was a strong woman who dedicated her life to being a loving mother, sister, and nana. She selflessly gave herself to the care of her family and friends. She enjoyed baking, watching football, playing games, and cheering for her kids, grandchildren, and nephews in all that they did. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Judy spent most of her career, spanning several decades, working for Armstrong Flooring.

Surviving her is her mother, Judith Sabina Latham; two daughters, Jamie Jo (Altenberger) Kershaw (Jon) and Emilie Ann Altenberger (Marian Dzwonnik); her sister, Sharon Ann (Ginder) Davis (Timothy); two grandchildren, Grace Kibbons and Jude Kershaw; two nephews, Tyler and Joseph Davis. In the blended family are Justin Hines (Laura), Josh Hines (Brittany), Amanda Berardelli, and their children: Sophia, June, Madeleine, Rhett, and Delaney. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her immensely loved dog, Ellie.

Judy is preceded in death by her father, Freeman Dale Ginder.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A celebration of life will be held on March 9th from 2-6 pm at Hoppy Pig in Bradley, IL.
