Obituary of Barry Lawrence Halperin

Barry L. Halperin, 78, of Mesa, Az passed away peacefully at Lund Home Hospice of The Valley on January 19, 2024.

Barry Lawernce Halperin was born on March 18, 1945, in Chicago, IL. He was the middle child born to Kiva and Ruth (Golub) Halperin.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee Buckwalter); daughters, Kelly Halperin of Huron, SD; Tracy Halperin of DeSmet, SD; Maureen (Scot) Kintz of Brooksville, FL; Angela (Brad) Van Bochove of Inwood, IA; grandchildren, Ryan (Chantel) Halperin, Sydnee Winter, Cole & Tristen Kintz, Tori & Rayna Van Bochove and Cullyn Winter; great grandchildren: Axton and Skylar Halperin; brother, Allen (Villerma) Halperin of Chicago, IL; former wife, Penny Fisher (Schmechel); many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Barry and Sandra were married in June of 1999 in Huron, SD before deciding to move to Arizona.

As a sport enthusiast he played softball and bowled and of course everyone knows that he was an avid Chicago Cubs (World Series Champions of 2016) and Chicago Bear fan. He was smart witted and loved to make people laugh, singing karaoke and having coffee with the “guys”.

He was also an owner and operator of A Better Glass Inc. in Huron, South Dakota. He also retired from Talking Stick Resort as security in Scottsdale, Arizona.  

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Kiva and Ruth (nee Golub) Halperin, Sister Marla (nee Halperin) Senn.

Barry's wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in South Dakota.
