Obituary of Donald Alfred Gandre

Donald Alfred Gandre passed away on November 1, 2023 at the age of 91. Donald was born on December 2, 1931 to the late William and Regina (Schnicke) Gandre in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Don graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1941. He later moved to Phoenix, Arizona and attended Arizona State University where he met his wife, Eunice Ludwig. They were married August 27, 1955. After graduating with a bachelor degree in 1956, he entered the US Air Force as an officer. He was honorably discharged and went back to school at the University of Illinois, where he received a Master's of Science degree in 1959. He then went to the University of Wisconsin in Madison where he received degree in Master's of Science in 1962 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1965. Don and family then moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where Don taught at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and was also the chairman of the department of Urban and Regional Analysis for 30 years. On retirement he received the Honor of Professor Ameritas in 1992. After retirement he and his wife moved to Phoenix, Arizona.

Don's interests were his family, extensive traveling, both nationally and internationally, the Green Bay Packers, UWGB, basketball, fishing, boating and church.

Donald is survived by his wife of 68 years, two daughters, Donna Marie Gandre and Cheryl Lynne Ouzounis, two sons –in – law, Victor, Jakpor and Chris Ouzounis, three grandsons, David Jakpor, Zachary Jakpor, and Christos Ouzounis, sister –in – law, Constance Anderson, cousin, Larry Webster and his wife, Jackie, and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeding Don in death were his daughter, Linda Ann Gandre Jakpor and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, He wanted donations to University of Wisconsin Green Bay Scholarship Fund in memory of Donald Gandre.
