Obituary of Vera Ethelene Glass

Our Dear Mother Vera Ethelene Bryant Glass Obituary, Sunrise Jan 28, 1948- Sunset Nov 22, 2023

Mother, Author, Evangelist, and Bible Teacher Vera Ethelene Glass was the eldest of 14 children, born to Kenneth Howard Bryant and Ethel Mae Bryant in Goldsboro, North Carolina, on Jan 28th, 1948. Vera learned to sew from her grandmother at a young age and became an accomplished designer. Vera had her own business, with the natural ability to sew men's suits, wedding dresses, interior designs, and many more artistic creations. She could look at something and make it or create it. Mother Glass was an avid gardener with a green thumb. Wherever she lived, she always had a beautiful big garden of vegetables. Vera, called Lene by her family, was very close to her brothers and sisters, being named the Family Matriarch and Family historian.  After graduating from Dillard High School and spending some years at North Carolina Central University in Durham, Vera married and relocated to Arizona to raise her three daughters.

Vera took pride in her career working in management for the phone companies Mountain Bell and U.S. West.  God called Vera, and her extraordinary ministry gift touched many lives, leading others to Christ. She served God wholeheartedly, with a passion for touching the lives of abused women in need. Vera was a Prayer Warrior, and through her Ministry, she mentored and encouraged countless people over the years. She was the CEO and founder of “He Restoreth My Soul Ministries.”    Vera was the author of 3 books, G.R.I.P/ Great People in Prayer, Crabs in the Basket Mentality, and Dead Flies in the Apothecary. Evangelist Glass helped Pastors set up churches; she had the Gift of Administration, allowing her to organize church events, create the documents needed for Church business programs, and give advice. In Vera’s later years in ministry, she held a weekly podcast and a family and friends prayer line.

Vera is survived by her three daughters, Veralyn Johnson, Ethel Jones, and Kenyatta, and two son-in-laws, Marcquette Johnson and Keith Jones.  As well as eight grandchildren, Shanice Johnson,  Ayanna Johnson, Lathenia Johnson, Marcquette Johnson II, Kenneth Glass, Malik Moser, Tyree Moser and James, three great-grandchildren: Kennedy Glass, Benjamin Glass, and Shamar Wilson.  Eleven surviving siblings, Eliza Davis, Kenneth Bryant Jr, Joseph Bryant, Stanley Bryant, Iris Bryant, Ella Bryant, Veronica Bryant, Bernice Bryant, Nellie Birden, Winifred Bryant, and Eltralla Bryant. Many First and Second Cousins, some like siblings, many Nieces and Nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Vera’s legacy will continue to live on through all generations and in the lives of those who were impacted by her life's work.
