Obituary of Kenneth Edward Gross

Kenneth Edward Gross beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on September 26, 2023. He was 91 years old. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Kenneth lived in Delafield, Dousman, Minocqua, and Presque Isle, Wisconsin, then settled in Mesa, Arizona for the remaining twenty-five years of his life.

Ken served in the navy as a machinist on the USS Iowa. He was an engineer at Allis Chalmers for over twenty years, and Johnson Controls after that. After retiring as an engineer, he was owner of Patricia Lake Campsite in Minocqua. Ken built three of his own homes.

Ken loved the Arizona desert, and was an avid hiker and bicyclist. He loved to lawn bowl with his community club. For many years, he was a volunteer handyman at Holy Cross Church, known for being fearless in climbing high ladders, and solving many maintenance problems.

Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy, and his grandson Matthew. He is survived by four children: Jeanne Sima (Gary), Susan Ritter, Christopher (Amy), Timothy (Jana), eight grandchildren, his brother Donald, his sister Shirley Feith, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11 am, at St James Catholic Church, W220N6588 Town Line Rd, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Luncheon will follow from 12-2:00 pm. Ken’s remains rest next to his beloved wife, Nancy, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Ken will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
