Obituary of Alfonso Osuna

Alfonso Lopez Osuna Sr.”El Bootz”, Age 74, was born on January 30,1949 in Tempe Arizona, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was raised in Guadalupe, Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Jesus Flores Osuna and Artemisa Lopez Osuna, His Siblings: Mary Alicia Tapia, Carlos Osuna, Joey Osuna and his Great-grandson Ezekyel Roy Valenzuela.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Araselia “Sally”, His children Richard Sr. (Julia), Alfonso Jr. (Carmen), Angelica (Arturo), Rosemarie (Miguel).

His grandchildren: Beatrice, Vanessa (Arturo), Richard Jr. (Adrianna), Arturo (Susana), Jacob Nathaniel, Isaac, Sixto, Oraya, Angelina, Andres, Antonio, Emilio, Mercielisa, Alonzo, Rosalinda.

His Great-grandchildren: Ariza, Jeremy, Izayah, Juan V, Lillyana, Richard III, Annalise, Vivianna, Eliyanna.

His siblings: Pete Razo (Rosalie), Mary Alma Fierros, Alejandro Osuna (Frances), Dora Contreras (George), Alberta Osuna, Alfredo Osuna, Virginia Osuna.

Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, cousins, godchildren and friends.

Alfonso dedicated 42 years of service in the traffic control industry and retired in 2014. Alfonso graduated from McClintock High in 1968.  Alfonso met Sally when she arrived from Texas with her parents and siblings to the Town of Guadalupe 61 years ago. They participated in the church group Legion of Mary. Alfonso told his friends “She is going to be my wife.”

Services and viewing will be at Legacy Funeral Home – Rose Chapel, 1130 South Horne, Mesa, Arizona, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 8:30am – 12pm with a Rosary at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Resthaven at 1pm, 4310 East Southern Ave., Phoenix, Arizona.

Celebration of Life Reception to follow at Santa Lucia Kitchen (Yaqui Hall) 5434 East Calle Iglesia, Guadalupe, Arizona.
