Obituary of Michael William Henry Sr.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia.
Mike was a Mesa resident for the last 65 years. He attended
Mesa High School. In 1969 he enlisted in the U.S.M.C. In 1970
he served 10 months overseas as a USMC (LCPL) in the
Vietnam war.
In 1973 he married Eudora Elaine Morgan. They had three
sons - Michael, Cliff, and Chance. This eventually grew to
three daughters-in-law, twelve grandchildren, two grand sons-in-law, two grand daughters-in-law, and three great
grandchildren. Next to Jesus, Elaine proved to be the best
thing to ever happen to him.
He worked at General Motors Desert Proving Grounds for 24
years. He competed in local, state, and national pistol
shooting competitions. He started and operated “Henry’s
Restorations”, an auto restoration shop in Mesa.
His greatest treasure was accepting Jesus Christ as his
personal Savior as a teenager. And secondly, spending time
with his beloved family. He invested time with his boys
teaching them how to work with their hands, handle a
firearm, maintenance their vehicle and getting a good lunch
somewhere together.
One statement he frequently said in his last years was “I’m a
blessed man”. He went out with joy. Considering the health
conditions he was in, we as family are thankful that God gave
him such grace in these last years
