Obituary of Juanita Maria Chapman

Juanita Maria Soria Chapman, 92, passed away on February 22, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona. Juanita was born on June 24, 1927 in Durango, Durango Mexico to Jose Ines Soria Montes and Maria Exceptacion Hernadez De La Cruz. Juanita lived in Mexico until becoming a U.S. citizen in 1964. Juanita retired from the Cashier’s Union after working many years. During that time and for many years after she sold for companies as Avon, Jafara and Noni. She was very personable and won awards with these companies for being a (top seller). While being retired, she worked diligently in many volunteer groups such as Our Lady of Guadalupe in Queen Creek, VFW Auxiliary and Cancer Society. She was positive and always pushed herself to be better while helping others. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Mary Jones, and three grandchildren, Brandy Poolan, Daniel Jaques and Tiffany Serfustini. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, siblings, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, many siblings, and husbands Lyman Fred Chapman, Ferrell Verniel Hilyard and Raymon Talamatez. Juanita was selflessly devoted to her family, Catholic faith and friends and was a great example of goodness her whole life. She will be missed greatly by all that knew her. A funeral service will take place at Saint Anne Roman Catholic Parish, 440 E Elliot Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234 at 10am on Friday March1, 2019 In lieu of flowers donations in her honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/other_ways_to_give/tributes
