Obituary of Ronda Carrington

Ronda Carrington passed away peacefully at her home on February 26, 2019. Ronda was born on October 19, 1951, in Storm Lake, Iowa, and raised in Denver, Colorado. She is preceded in death by parents, Tex and Lou Carrington; as well as her faithful little diva sidekick, Willow. Ronda is survived by her sister, Gail Kari Wainwright; brother-in-law, Tom Wainwright; nephew, Travis Wainwright; daughters, Michele and Tasha Salters; and countless friends. Ronda’s early career was spent working with at-risk youth while employed by Vision Quest, a wagon train wilderness program. Ronda later worked for, and retired from, the United States Postal Service where she made countless life-long friends. Ronda was many things to many people. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and friend. She was a strong and independent woman who was also kind and generous with her time, attention, and affection. She was a constant support to her family and friends and always made those around her feel heard and important. She was a fierce animal lover, chocoholic, quirky joker, intelligent free-thinker, and a wicked Scrabble opponent. She was quick-witted and always the first to poke fun at herself. She loved her community at Apache Wells and was known to many as the resident IT expert. She enjoyed spending time in nature and treasured the southwest and all its beauty. It is impossible to sum up all that Ronda was in the span of a few short paragraphs. She was everything. She is deeply missed. Those who knew her, loved her, and are better for it. Bye for now… until we meet again. Please join us in celebrating her life Friday March 8, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Apache Wells Community Church, 2115 N. Gayridge Rd. Mesa, AZ 85215. Donations can be made in Ronda’s name to the Glaucoma Research Foundation, 251 Post St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94108, (800) 826-6693, or you can visit their website directly and donate online at glaucoma.org.
