Obituary of Howard Wayne Esmeier

Howard Wayne Esmeier, 80, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 23rd, 2019 at his home in Mesa, Arizona with his wife by his side.Howard was born in Boonville, Indiana to Hubert and Lutie Esmeier on July 28th, 1938. He married Martha Merder on December 4th, 1957 in Jasper, Ind. He was a decorated, disabled, veteran of the United States Navy; serving as a Boiler Tech for 22 years. Following the Navy, Howard worked in the copper mines in Miami, Arizona for 12 years before retiring. Howard was passionate about Golf, Hunting, Archery, and reading western books.Howard is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Lutie Esmeier, brother John Esmeier. Howard is survived by his spouse, Martha Esmeier, his 4 Children Shelia Castillo, Bret Esmeier, Scott Esmeier and Melissa Esmeier-Coovert, 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.The family of Howard Esmeier wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Aegis Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion for the past 2 months and to the Veterans Administration for caring for Howard over the years. Burial will follow at National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona later. Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home
