Obituary of Stormy J Zbar

Stormy was born in Detroit, where her mom worked for the phone company and her dad was starting a trucking company. Within six months the family relocated to Beaufort, South Carolina. Her mom started a restaurant to serve the Marines on Paris Island and her father had a large trucking company, shipping vegetables to the New York area. Both parents and Stormy are Catholic. Stormy’s parent’s decided to have stormy’s sister take care of Stormy in Gainsville, Florida. Stormy went to San Angelo Academy through High School. She went to Florida State and got a degree in Humanities. At Florida state she met Alan Zbar and married at 20. Alan was a Lawyer and also enlisted in the Air Force until Retirement. Alan was in charge of all the Lawyers in the company and Stormy was in charge of all the parties Alan had. Stormy and Alan were stationed at first in LA, then Alaska, and finally Colorado Springs. Stormy learned to do art in Alaska, and won top awards for her paintings. Stormy was a lover of horses and she bred Arabians and showed them in all types of events, winning many trophy’s. Alan had moved to judgeship in Castle Rock, Colorado and had a private law practice. Alan was in excellent shape and had been a champion wrestler at Florida State. In 1986 he had a massive brain stroke, and died at 55. Stormy had a great life with Alan. She loved the Air Force and entertaining for Alan. Her love and horses flourished during these years. In 1988 at financial work center in Denver, Colorado, she met Miked. She and Mike spent 31 wonderful years together. Mike says they never had a serious disagreement in all the years. Stormy continued her love of horses and in 1996, Stormy added active breeding of German Shepherds to Mike and her life. Mike says that was a wonderful experience. Mike and Stormy lived in Parker, Colorado, Mesa, Arizona and currently reside in Maricopa, Arizona. Stormy loved Colorado, but her favorite was Arizona. Mike says he has 31 wonderful years of great memories to remember her by. Stormy felt that Mikes kids, Todd and Valerie were like her second set of kids and she cherished great times she had with them.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25 at 6pm - 7pm at Legacy Funeral Home, 1374 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler, AZ 85225.
