Obituary of Mark William Barkdull

Mark William Barkdull passed away with his wife by his side on February 15th, 2019 at Chandler Regional Medical Center. He was a much beloved husband and father, and a dear friend to many. He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska – the territory – on November 3rd, 1958 to his parents Merlin and Katherine Barkdull. He spent a good deal of his life in Alaska, enduring the cold winters that only the toughest could handle. His dream was to become an aviation mechanic like his father, and thus he did. He landed his first aircraft job with AIA. He went on to become a mechanic and maintenance director for airlines such as MarkAir, America West, US Airways, and Alante Air Charter. After starting a family, he moved to California for a short time before finally settling in Mesa, Arizona. He enjoyed doing everything outdoors like camping, and had a previous hobby of hunting and fishing while in Alaska. Often times he could be found tinkering away in his garage with his favorite rock songs blasting away on the speakers. He is survived by his wife Margie and their two daughters, Adria and Emily, as well as his stepchildren Alyssa and Scott. He even had the joy of being a grandfather to a little boy, Liam. He is also survived by his three brothers John, Scott, Matt, his sister Jacki, and several in-laws, nephews, and nieces. Whenever asked what he wanted, there were two things he’d say for certain. “A stick with a bug on the end of it,” or just to spend time with his family. He inspired many with his ambitious and kind heart, and he will be greatly missed in years to come. Forever will he remain in our thoughts and prayers. Until the day we see you again…
