Obituary of Edward S. Blaszczyk

Edward S. Blaszczyk, age 70, of San Tan Valley, AZ, went home to be with his Savior October 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward M. Blaszczyk and Eleanor R. Blaszczyk. He is survived by his wife, Judith Blaszczyk; much loved children and ‘children in love’, Melissa Smith and husband James of Chandler, AZ, Ryan Blaszczyk and wife Nicole of New Richmond, WI; grandchildren, Hayley, Mattia, Reagan and Caleb Smith of Chandler, AZ and Abigail, Brooke, Claire and Derek Blaszczyk of New Richmond, WI; as well as his sister, Carolyn Blaszczyk of Hanover, PA. Although he had many and varied interests, three things best characterized his life: His faith was in Jesus both for his life here and for his eternity. This is reason why his family has joy amid the grief, knowing without a doubt that he is at home in heaven free from pain and sorrow. The second was his love for his family. From the time Judi and he began dating in high school and through their nearly 50 years together, he never stopped demonstrating his love by the thoughtful and romantic things he did. He lived one of his favorite sayings, “Love means doing loving things.” His role as Dad and Dziadzi, (Polish for grandfather) was one he truly cherished. The children and grandchildren aptly called him “The Fun One” or the “Shenanigator”. He was always planning exciting outings, playing pranks and preferred playing with the kids rather than sitting and talking with the adults. And lastly was his ever-present sense of humor. Laughter was part of so many conversations with family, friends and sometimes, even strangers. During his many health challenges, his humor didn’t waver, and he would draw chuckles from the doctors and nurses who cared for him. It is often said “To know him is to love him.” With Edward, the saying would have to be “To know him is to laugh with and love him.” A Celebration of his Life will be held at Crossroads Nazarene Church, Friday, December 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. AZ. time. The service will be streamed at 2:00 CST and 3:00 EST.
