Obituary of Judith L. Burry

Judith (Judy) L. Burry, of Mesa, AZ, passed away of natural causes on March 20, 2023, while at her home.  Judy was born on Feb. 2, 1940, in Sydney, NE.  Judy graduated from Scottsbluff, NE High School in 1958, and attended the University of Nebraska from 1958-1960.  She married Lyle W. Burry in 1960, and then moved to Lubbock, TX.  In 1967, Judy & Lyle moved to  Chicago, IL area, where they resided until 2015.  In 1999, Judy and Lyle built a home in Mesa, AZ and spent the summers in Illinois and the winters in Arizona until 2015 when they moved to Mesa, Arizona full time.

Judy loved to volunteer her time at church, PEO, grade schools and other extracurricular events.  She loved to travel, read, play bridge and she was a devout Christian.  Her strong faith was at the center part of her world.  She loved being around people and she was always very giving of her time to anyone who needed a helping hand.  She was very loving, caring and supportive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Myra Wolcott; sister, Linda Grimes; husband, Lyle W. Burry; and daughter, Tracy J. Burry.  She is survived by her brother, Donald (Sally) Wolcott, sons David (Laura) Burry and Steve (Carolyn) Burry; three grandchildren, Kyle, Danielle (Manny) Ramirez, Breanne (Logan) Wineland; three great-grandchildren, Ayleen, Ariana and Alex. Four nieces and eight great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony on the Desert Episcopal Church in Scottsdale, AZ, on April 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Committal will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ at 1:30 p.m.
