Obituary of Sylvia Carrera

Our dear mother Sylvia Carrera, 73, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023 in Gilbert, Arizona. She was born in Corpus Christi Texas, and made her home in Oakland, California. Sylvia, also known as “Pipa,” dedicated her life to being a mother and grandmother. She gave herself unselfishly to the care of her family. She enjoyed going to the casino, watching scary movies, traveling with her family, going shopping, and cooking delicious meals. You could always catch her watching her favorite movies or shows in her rocking chair. Sylvia was known for her famous handmade tortillas, refried beans, and her Spanish rice. She was a firecracker who lit up a room wherever she went. She is survived by her daughters: Margo (Jon) and Claudia (Fabian,) her two grandchildren: Analyssa and Tyler, her siblings, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; David Rivero Sr. and Josephine Rivero.She was truly loved and will be dearly missed.
