Obituary of Mark Davis Schnese
Mark Davis Schnese of St. Joseph, Michigan passed away suddenly at the age of 68 in Phoenix, AZ on January 24, 2023.
Mark was born the eldest of two children to Sally and Frank Schnese in St. Joseph, MI on November 19, 1954.
Family, friends, sports and music framed the life of Mark Schnese, a man loved by many and liked by all. Mark was a loving, calming, steady figure for his family, and his signature laugh will be deeply missed.
His high school sweetheart Marcia Ann Clark said yes, and they were wed in 1975, the envy of all couples that knew them. Their oldest son Brett was born in 1980, with Ryan following in 1984.
His love of sports transitioned from playing to coaching, and was a bond with his boys for life. He coached “Rocket” football, Freshman football at St. Joseph High School, Brett & Ryan’s baseball teams and most recently for his grandson. He played football at Western Michigan University and was inducted into the St. Joseph High School Athletic Hall of Fame for football, basketball & baseball.
Go Irish!
Mark leaves behind the love of his life, Marica, two proud sons, Brett (Amy) and Ryan (Missie), two grandsons Dominic and Dyson and two step-granddaughters Alexandra and Angela. He was preceded in his passing by his mother Sally, father Frank, and brother Kurt Schnese.
A drop-in memorial will be held at Cafe Boa Ahwatukee, 5063 E Elliot Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85044 on Sunday, February 19, 1-4 pm.
