Obituary of Mark Lavar Alvey

Mark Lavar Alvey, age 67, passed away at his residence in Chandler, AZ, on September 21, 2022. He was an animal lover and loved playing piano, hiking and bike riding. Mark was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on July 1, 1955. In his youth, he enjoyed skiing and fishing. After growing up in Idaho Falls, Mark went to Brigham Young University and got degrees in Art and Design followed by Design Engineering. He advanced in his profession as a design engineer from designing components and assemblies for air-turbine starters at Honeywell to designing semiconductor wafer processing machinery at ASM to missile components, electronics installations, and laser hardware production improvements.

Mark is preceded by his parents Elaine and LaVar Alvey and his brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Ginni, son Brandon, nine cats and two dogs in Chandler, AZ. His daughter Crista, son-in-law David, and grandson Kaiden live in Fremont, CA. Mark is also survived by his siblings Kathy Jones, Debbie Olson, Jeff Alvey, Brad Alvey, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held on Friday September 30, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1111 E Knox Rd, Tempe, AZ 85284.
