Obituary of Melva Dawn Floerke

Melva Dawn Floerke, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022, at the age of 90, in Chandler, Arizona. She was born an only child to Robert and Estelle Wilde on May 14, 1932, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She enjoyed spending time with her grandparents growing up and was adored by her family.

She attended the University of Wyoming, where she met her future husband, Jack Floerke Harms, who preceded her in death. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1957 and raised three children: Lori, Joni and Robert. They divorced in the early 80’s and a very special companion came into her life, Royal Duenwald. They spent the next 25 years together enjoying life, drinking their coffee, and having lively discussions.

The real joy and light of Dawn’s life were the additions of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They fondly called her “Grandma Dawn”. The love and bond among all of them was very special. To know Grandma Dawn is to know a caring heart and a loving soul.

Our beloved mom and Grandma Dawn is survived by her three children; Lori (Steve) Seim, Joni (Bruce) Sloan, Robert Scott, two twin grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many friends that were very dear to her. She joined her fifth and oldest great grandchild in heaven.

A graveside service will be held at the Arvada Cemetery, located at 5581 Independence St. Arvada, Colorado 80002, on Friday August 26, 2022.
