Obituary of Sally Ann Maynard

Sally Ann Maynard, 82 years old of Phoenix, Arizona passed away Friday June 24, 2022. Born on October 31, 1939, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Andrew and Leona Maynard. Sally lived a long life full of adventure leaving behind countless stories to be remembered by.

Following in her father’s footsteps, Sally had a passion for horses and rodeo and committed a lifetime to her beloved hobby. She spent numerous hours caring, riding, showing and teaching her grandchildren to ride. She loved camping and experiencing nature and enjoyed passing on those hobbies and knowledge to her grandchildren. When not immersed in equine activities, Sally loved doing puzzles, baking, thrifting and reading.

She was a no-nonsense woman and displayed independence and strength. There was nothing she could not accomplish if she put her mind to it. Everyone has a ‘Sally’ story to keep her memory alive and we are continuously learning new things about her.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents and son, George Atamian. She is survived by her daughter, Surena (Atamian) Avalos; along with grandchildren: Amanda Atamian, Ashley Atamian, Andrew Avalos and Anisa Avalos and many great-grandchildren.
