Obituary of Patricia Ann Nelson

MESA, AZ - Patricia A. Nelson, age 91, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, May 22nd at Banner Baywood Medical Center. She was born on March 26, 1931 in Bucyrus, Ohio, and was the daughter of Frederick and Inez Krumbach. She was a 1950 graduate of Bucyrus High School and went on to attend Capitol University in Columbus, Ohio, where she studied music. She was a talented pianist and taught piano lessons in her younger years. Pat retired from Carlisle's Department Store in Ashtabula, OH in 1985, and then relocated to Phoenix, AZ. She was a long-time member of the United Church of God, where she played the piano and sang in the choir. Her life was enriched by a large circle of friends and family, and also by her love for books. Reading was her favorite pastime. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson Brian Miller; sisters, Evelyn Welty, Geraldine Hannon, Jeanette Armbrust and Ruth Krumbach. She was formerly married to William Nelson of Andover, OH (deceased), and is survived by their children, daughter Laura (Russell) York of Andover, OH; son, Marty Nelson of Andover, OH; daughter, Karen Miller of Asheville, NC; and son, Matt Nelson of Andover, OH; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A “Celebration of Life” for Patricia will be held at Christian Manor, 118 S. 70th St., Mesa, AZ on Monday, May 30th at 2pm.
