Obituary of Ellen Marie Wangen

Ellen Marie Wangen, 71, of Chandler, formerly from Winona, MN was reunited with her husband & other family members in heaven after passing unexpectedly at her home on March 22, 2022. Ellen was born September 8, 1950 to Leslie and Doris (Albers) Thisted in Albert Lea, MN 

Ellen graduate from Albert Lea High School in 1968. She attended Albert Lea Vo Tech. She was married due a short time to Tom Gold.

On June 20th, 1970 she married the love of her life, Keith Wangen. Together they raised 4 children. She worked for Parkview Nursing Home in Wells until the family moved to Winona in 1987. In Winona, she worked as an office manager until finding her passion as a daycare provider. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her grandkids & great-grandkids.

She is survived by her 4 children; Tim (Melissa), Nicole (Marty Brooks), Chad (Elle) & Matt (Joy Kubis); 9 grandchildren; Marcus, Noah, Samantha, Haley, Tyler, Brandy, Justin, Harley & Hannah; 6 great- grandchildren; Maecy, Brantley, Skylar, Addison, Payton & Kye.

She is preceded in death by her husband Keith, first husband Tom, both parents (Les & Doris), mother & father-in-law (Ray & Violet Wangen)

A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Legacy Funeral Home in Chandler. We will also have a celebration of life in Minnesota at a later date. Location to be determined.
