Obituary of Lynn Dale Maruska

Lynn Dale Maruska, age 76, passed away on Monday, October 18th in Chandler, Arizona. He is survived by his three sons, Mike (Carrie), Tim (Keri) and Andy (Erin), and his siblings, Sharon (Kratt), Sondra (Weinzierl), and Mark. He was born December 25th, 1944, and grew up on the family farm in Angus, Minnesota with his parents Morris and Ivy. After graduating Salutatorian from Warren High School, he attended Macalester College and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He went on to do graduate work in math at both MIT and the University of Minnesota before enlisting in the army and being stationed at The Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon. After his military service he had a long career in business management at Control Data and Allen Bradley-Rockwell while living in the Twin Cities. He loved sports and was active the majority of his life with volleyball, tennis, biking and golf as well as watching the Vikings, Gophers, Lakers and Yankees. He had a real interest in cars, too, and always kept them immaculate. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his brilliant mathematical mind and his kindness and compassion. He cared for others and served in a variety of volunteer roles from church to acting as a guardian ad litem. His greatest joy in life was his family, particularly his three sons and eight grandchildren, Connor, Aubrey, Mila, Cora, Theo, Sofia, Elena and Adam. Memorial service will be held in Summer 2022 in Minnesota. Donations may be sent to Parkinson’s Foundation (parkinson.org)
