Obituary of Carol O’Brien

Carol O’Brien, 80, died on January 11, 2022, with her family by her side in Apache Junction, AZ. Memorials will be held in Apache Junction and Pocahontas IA. Carol was born on April 3, 1941 in Columbus, NE to Adrian and Mildred Mueting. Carol’s family moved to Pocahontas, IA when she was in the 7th grade. That year she began a friendship with Mike O’Brien that resulted in marriage on June 12, 1965. After graduating from High School Carol graduated from The College of Saint Mary in Omaha, NE and Briar Cliff University, Sioux City, IA and was a long time Teacher in the Sioux City, IA School System. Carol dedicated her life to being a wife and mother and was an avid golfer. She gave herself unselfishly to the care of her family including her 2 sons and their families. Carol and Mike split their time between their homes in Iowa/South Dakota and Arizona and appreciate her friends in both locations. Carol is survived by her husband Mike, her son Ted and his family, wife Cindy and their children, daughter Elizabeth and her husband Mack, sons Collin and Aidan all of Ankeny, IA and her youngest son Tom and his wife Sohila of Chandler, AZ.
