Obituary of Mary Rutherford

Mary “Carmen” Rutherford, 70, of Chandler, Arizona, peacefully went to heaven on August 24, 2021. She was born on January 24, 1951, in Queen Creek, Arizona, daughter of Celestino Camacho and Anita Valenzuela Bean. Carmen worked for the Chandler School District and was a food service manager for over 30 years until she retired. She loved her family, music, dancing, and going to the casino. She was the life of the party, lit up the room with laughter when she was around, and you could always expect a great time when she was present. She always had the ability to make people smile and laugh. After retirement, she showed her love for making great food by catering several events, known for her great green chile recipe. She is survived by her children, Cinnamon Vasquez (Jesus), Gary Rutherford, and Mandy Rutherford (Travis), 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters – Stella Willmes, Celestino Camacho, Jr., Barbara Morris, Teresa Camacho, Duvi Camacho, Steven Camacho, Jimmy Camacho, David Camacho, Susie Jimenez, Sonia Camacho, Celestino (Tino) Camacho, Roger Camacho, Rudy Camacho, and Christina Gonzales. She is also survived by many other loving family members. She was pre-deceased by her husband Gary Wayne Rutherford, her parents Celestino Camacho and Anita Valenzuela Bean, her brother George Camacho, and her grandson David Vasquez. Carmen will be greatly missed by all. When you think of her, remember her for the laughter and smiles she brought to your life! Services to be held at Legacy Funeral Home Chandler Chapel located at 1374 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler AZ 85225 Saturday, September 4th from 3 pm to 5 pm.
