Obituary of Vernice Golden

Vernice Golden passed away in Chandler AZ on December 7, 2018. Vernice Janelle Rohman was born on June 8th , 1951 in Fargo, ND to Harley and Margaret Rohman. Her family moved to Phoenix Arizona in 1962 and it became her home for the rest of her life. Vernice was an adventurous soul from the moment she was born. In her quest to live life to the fullest she moved to the Grand Canyon after high school and worked there for 9 months. She returned to the Phoenix area in 1970 and began to work at Jerry’s coffee shop where she met Steve Mills. They married in 1971, and had four children. She poured her adventurous nature into raising her four kids, exploring various careers, and being involved in her church home. Vernice and Steve divorced in 1997. Vernice began working for Brown and Williamson Tobacco company where she met Dennis Golden. They began dating in 2001. They continued living an adventurous life full of travel and new experiences including adding 6 grandchildren to their family. Vernice and Denny married in on January 14, 2006 adding Denny’s two sons and granddaughter to her family. She was diagnosed with inoperable stomach cancer in August of 2018. Through the gift of IV nutrition, she was able to continuing living a life of adventure until her death on December 7th of the same year. She was preceded in death by her brother Vincent Rohman, father, Harley Rohman, nephew Garret Haines, and her mother Maragret Rohamn. She leaves behind her husband, Dennis Golden, her four children Tina Mills, Michelle (Mike) Albert, Michael (Kristen) Mills, and Tyler (Mallory) Mills, 2 stepsons Bart Golden and Donovan Golden 7 grandchildren, Alexandra Golden, Harely, Alexxander, and Trinity Mills and Ashley, Alexis, and Michael Albert, and many nieces and nephews as well as beloved friends. We will miss her for the rest of our lives and look forward to seeing her again in the kingdom to come. Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Saturday December 15th at Esperanza Lutheran Church, 2601 E. Thunderhill Place Phoenix, AZ 85048. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to the quilting or prayer shall ministries of your congregation, or Esperanza Lutheran Church in Vernice’s name.
