Obituary of Ellen Elsie Winn Fox

Ellen Elise Winn Fox, age 89, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and special friend to so many, passed away January 14, 2022, at her home with her family at her side. A CELEBRATION of Life in true Ellen style will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Gilbert, Arizona. Ellen will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband at the VA Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Ellen was born November 8, 1932, in Buchanan County (Iowa), the daughter of Vernon and Mary (Michael) Winn. She attended a one room schoolhouse from first through eighth grade and graduated from Walker High School. Ellen was united in marriage to Robert Fox on February 14, 1953, at Walker Sacred Heart Church. Ellen is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen (Dave) Coultrap; one daughter-in-law, Gigi Fox; two grandchildren, Lauren (Jiovanni) Camacho and Kevin (Ashley) Coultrap; two step-grandchildren, Cheri (Kenny) Pennington and Josh Simon; three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Teagan Camacho and Marley Pennington; two brothers, Burton Winn and Marc “Tuff” Winn; one brother-in-law, Tom Sherman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws Glenn and Rose Fox; husband Robert in 2006; son Robbie in 2021; infant sister Rosemary Winn and sisters Kathryn Sherman, Marge Henderson and Jeannine Dvorak, brothers Pat and Norman Winn; five sisters-in-law, Agnes Fox, Gertrude Rick, Delores Winn, Kay Winn and Marie Winn; five brothers-in-law, Donald Fox, George Fox, Glen Fox, Raymond Dvorak and Leonard Henderson. She loved to travel and spent many years in Rocky Point, Mexico with treasured friends. Ellen loved her neighbors and friends whether it was the front yard at The Blake’s or the patio in Sun Lakes, she loved to party. Sunday dinners with her family was always cherished time, which she will be dearly missed. Ellen touched so many lives in many ways and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Phoenix Police Foundation.
