Obituary of Linda Joye Martin

Linda Joye Martin, 79, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on September 24th, 2021. Linda was born in Vernon, TX. She received her RN degree from Cameron University and went on to touch countless lives as a nurse in Texas, Arizona, England, Alabama, and Oregon. Her strong desire to serve was evident as she devoted her life, not only to patient care, but also to her church and community. Linda was an active member in the Assembly of God church and, over the years, served as a song leader, Missionettes leader, youth leader, and countless other positions. Family was also a big part of Linda’s life. A devoted wife and mother, Linda was often found traveling somewhere to see one of her children or grandchildren. Her grandchildren were so special to her, she often traveled just to see them play their favorite sport or perform in a recital, distance was never an issue for her. Linda was also known to take in those that needed her help. Over the years she helped countless people by giving them a roof over their head, food to eat, or just showing them unconditional love like they had never known. She was kind, compassionate, loving, and thoughtful, and she always found the good in everyone. If you met Linda just once, you were never a stranger again. She would always have a hug for everyone, and her smile would melt the coldest heart. Her prayers for her family never ceased and her faith never wavered. To say Linda was a Godly woman would be an understatement, she loved the Lord with all her heart, and she devoted her life to serving Him and the community. She will be missed by those she left behind on earth, but we rejoice knowing she is resting in the arms of her Lord, and we will meet again. Linda is survived by her loving husband Dana, who she just celebrated 50 years of marriage with . Her son Dean (and Linda) Sale, of San Tan Valley, AZ, daughters Daphne Cox, of Chandler, AZ, and Crystal Catalfu, of Murphy, NC. She has 9 grandchildren, Brandi Burton, Michael Sale, Kenneth Sale, Austin Cox, Annalise Cox, Dillon Cox, Jacob Bullock, Madison Bullock, and Dawson McLean as well as 9 great-grandchildren. There will be a celebration of life on Monday, October 4th, Linda’s 80th birthday, at 5 p.m. The celebration will be held at Apache Junction First Assembly of God 651 N. Ocotillo Dr. Apache Junction, AZ 85120. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association act.alz.org
