YULA JEAN BAYLESS
12/25/1926 – 12/21/2022
Stepmother of Nancy Gilchrist, widow of James R. Bayless. Jean was born in Brooklyn, Indiana. Her father, Archibald Passmore, died when she was a child. When she was 8 yrs. old, she contracted tuberculosis and had to spend a year in a TB sanitarium alone. Her widowed mother worked to support Jean and her 2 sisters. She took a train every weekend to see Jean through a window at the sanitarium. Jean was severely injured in an auto accident in her early 20s and unable to have children. Jean lived in Indiana, California, and Arizona. She was married twice before marrying Jim Bayless in 1964. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa.
